Dr. Victoria Donovan
Veterinarian
After growing up making cage forts and watching surgeries from a young age at her dad’s veterinary clinic, Victoria progressed to work as a veterinary assistant there for several years during high school. She later attended Queen’s University and completed an undergraduate degree in biology followed by a Master’s in neuroscience where she performed cellular based stroke research. Following in her father’s footsteps, Dr. Donovan graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2022 from the Ontario Veterinary College, becoming a fourth-generation veterinarian in her family.
Outreach and giving back to the greater community are exceptionally important to Victoria. During her DVM degree she volunteered with several outreach clinics, providing veterinary care to Indigenous and underprivileged communities. She also led an annual Christmas fundraiser for ‘Adopt a Family’ and organized a charity hockey tournament through Hockey Helps the Homeless. It won’t take long before Victoria finds ways to do the same in her new home here in BC.
Victoria went into veterinary medicine to nurture the human animal bond. She takes great pleasure in taking the time to educate clients on preventative medicine. Victoria strives to advocate for her patients while keeping their families’ best interests in mind. Professionally, she is interested in neurology, minimally invasive techniques, and pain management.
In her spare time Victoria is a hockey goalie, downhill skier, hiker, and Cross-fitter. Board game nights with craft beer are a ‘night in’ go to for her. She made the move to BC with her partner and two cats to be closer to the mountains and to enjoy the ‘West Coast’ lifestyle.
Dr. Donovan greatly looks forward to making lasting relationships with the clients and team at South Burnaby Veterinary Hospital.
